Did you know that coconut is considered a “Super Food”? Who would have thought that this beautiful island of Key Biscayne was once a plantation for some of Mother Nature’s most wonderful foods. Coconut and everything coconut, such as coconut oil, coconut butter, etc., are packed with a wide array of nutrients including high levels of Vitamin B, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium, just to name a few. This wonderful food provides an abundance of great dietary fiber and has even been acclaimed for its hormonal stabilizing properties.
Most people are hesitant to use coconut because of the fat content of this nut, but the reality is that the dietary fat provided by coconut and all of its many compositions is one of the best kinds you can put into your healthy regime. To make it even better, coconut water provides more natural electrolytes than its synthetic counterparts, Gatorade or Pedialyte. So have at it, add this wonderful nut to your cereal or smoothie, enjoy its flavor and high heat tolerance as a cooking oil, or just enjoy the meat as a healthy snack alternative.
